Preview: The D.C. Defenders (3-5) will wrap up their 2024 XFL season when they visit the Memphis Showboats (1-7) this Sunday at 2:30pm ET from Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium.

Recent Form: D.C. is coming off a tough 26-21 road loss to the St. Louis Battlehawks last week. Quarterback Jordan Ta’amu threw for 196 yards, 2 TDs and 2 INTs in the defeat.

Memphis enters having lost seven straight games after opening the season 1-0. The Showboats fell 27-16 at home to Michigan last Sunday.

Players to Watch: For the Defenders, Ta’amu has thrown for 1,572 yards and 10 TDs against 8 INTs on the year. Wide receiver Ty Scott (34 recs, 451 yds, 4 TDs) is his top target.

Showboats QB Willie Taggart Jr. has struggled, throwing 6 TDs compared to 11 interceptions. Running back Jah-Maine Martin (383 rush yds, 2 TDs) paces the Memphis ground attack.

Season Finale: With both teams out of playoff contention, this serves as the season finale for D.C. and Memphis. The Defenders will look to end on a high note before heading into the offseason.
