In a nail-biting finish, the St. Louis Battlehawks edged out the San Antonio Brahmas 13-12, securing home-field advantage for the highly anticipated XFL Conference Championship rematch. The two teams will battle it out once again on Sunday, June 9, at The Dome at America’s Center, with the winner advancing to the United Football League (UFL) Championship game.

The Battlehawks initially built a comfortable 10-point lead in the first half, thanks to a 22-yard touchdown pass from quarterback A.J. McCarron to wide receiver Steven Mitchell Jr. and a 32-yard field goal by kicker Andre Szmyt. However, the Brahmas refused to go down without a fight, scoring a touchdown early in the second half and narrowing the deficit to a single point with under two minutes remaining.

In a dramatic turn of events, the Brahmas appeared to have taken the lead after a touchdown and a successful two-point conversion. However, the referees overturned the conversion after a review, and the Battlehawks challenged an ineligible man downfield penalty, ultimately preserving their slim lead.

With the game on the line, the Brahmas had one last chance to pull off a comeback, but kicker Ryan Santoso’s 51-yard field goal attempt was tipped by wide receiver Hakeem Butler, sealing the Battlehawks’ victory and setting the stage for the highly anticipated rematch in the XFL Conference Championship.

The Battlehawks’ defense played a crucial role in the win, with linebacker Willie Harvey leading the way with 10 tackles and a sack. Safety Kameron Kelly also intercepted his third pass of the season, tying the franchise’s single-season record.

As the regular season comes to a close, the Battlehawks and Brahmas now shift their focus to the XFL Conference Championship, where they will meet again in what promises to be an epic battle for a spot in the UFL Championship game.
