When you talk about dynamic receivers in the United Football League, Marlon Williams of the Birmingham Stallions stands out as a player who knows how to make big plays when they matter most. Set to continue with the Stallions in the 2025 season, Williams has already proven himself as one of professional football’s rising stars.

Long before he was making highlight-reel plays for Birmingham, Williams was turning heads at McGill-Toolen Catholic High School, where he emerged as one of the nation’s top receiving prospects. Ranked as the 88th best receiver in the country by 247Sports and earning a Four-Star rating from ESPN, Williams initially committed to USC before finding his true home at the University of Central Florida.

At UCF, Williams didn’t just play – he made history. As a true freshman, he hit the ground running, appearing in all 13 games and showing flashes of brilliance with 17 catches for 270 yards and two touchdowns. But it was his senior year that truly put him in the record books. Leading the American Athletic Conference and ranking fifth nationally with an impressive 130 receiving yards per game, Williams established himself as one of college football’s most dangerous receivers.

His collegiate career numbers speak volumes: he finished tied for ninth in UCF history for career receptions, tenth all-time in program history with 2,260 receiving yards, and ninth in touchdown receptions with 19. These accomplishments, along with his selection as a Biletnikoff Award semifinalist and Pro Football Focus third-team All-American honors, painted a picture of a receiver ready for the professional ranks.

After a brief stint with the Houston Texans as an undrafted free agent in 2021, Williams found his professional home with the Birmingham Stallions. Selected in the 7th round of the inaugural 2022 USFL draft, he quickly proved himself worth far more than his draft position. Despite missing a game, he finished third in the league with 474 receiving yards and tied for second in receiving touchdowns.

But it was in the 2022 USFL Championship Game where Williams truly shined. In a performance that will long be remembered by Stallions fans, he hauled in seven receptions for 105 yards, including what would become the longest reception of the year – a spectacular 65-yard touchdown that helped secure the championship for Birmingham.

Now, as the Stallions prepare for their 2025 UFL campaign, Williams remains a key piece of their offensive arsenal. His combination of sure hands, explosive playmaking ability, and championship experience makes him one of the most valuable receivers in the league.

From his days as a highly-touted high school prospect to his record-setting career at UCF, and now as a championship-winning professional, Marlon Williams has consistently shown that he knows how to make an impact on the football field. As he continues his journey with the Stallions in 2025, fans can expect to see more of the explosive plays and clutch performances that have become his trademark.
