UFL Transactions: Key Roster Moves for St. Louis, DC, and Columbus
The UFL remains in a constant state of flux as teams fine-tune their rosters ahead of the 2026 season. This Tuesday and Wednesday, the league office announced several high-profile “Goodbyes” and “Hellos” that will shift the depth charts for the Battlehawks, Defenders, and more.
The “Goodbyes”: Notable Releases
Paris Shand, DT (Columbus Aviators)
In a surprising turn of events, Paris Shand was released by the Aviators less than 24 hours after his signing was first announced. A former standout at Arizona and LSU, Shand spent time with the Buffalo Bills and was a second-round pick in the 2025 CFL Draft. His release may signal a return to the Toronto Argonauts or a potential NFL opportunity.
Andrew Booth, CB (Louisville Kings)
One of the most recognizable names from the Free Agent Draft, Andrew Booth, has been released by the Louisville Kings. The former Clemson star and 2022 NFL second-round pick (Minnesota Vikings) struggled with injuries early in his career and most recently spent time on the Dallas Cowboys’ practice squad.
Taylor Morin, WR (St. Louis Battlehawks)
The Battlehawks have moved on from Taylor Morin, a productive receiver out of Wake Forest who holds the school record with 2,974 receiving yards. Morin faced a steep climb in a crowded St. Louis receiver room.
The “Hellos”: New Additions
Gabe Murphy, LB (DC Defenders)
The Defenders have bolstered their defense by signing linebacker Gabe Murphy. Murphy, who recorded 22.5 career collegiate sacks across North Texas and UCLA, spent the last two seasons with the Minnesota Vikings. Interestingly, Murphy was a second-round pick by the San Antonio Brahmas in 2024, meaning the Defenders are finally landing a long-coveted prospect.
Mac McCain, CB (St. Louis Battlehawks)
Returning to the “Battlehawk Blue” is veteran corner Mac McCain. McCain has a wealth of experience, having spent time with the Broncos and Eagles, as well as a previous stint with the Brahmas. Though he was caught in the roster reshuffle of the recent Repole Draft, he officially rejoined the St. Louis roster this week.
Editor’s Note: Training camp rosters are capped at 64 players as teams head toward the March 27 kickoff. Expect the transaction wire to remain hot as coaches finalize their final squads.
